Residing in Morehead, KY, John Ryster and Thomas Albert preserve traditional music styles of the Appalachian Mountain region. The duo’s diverse repertoire seamlessly blends regional fiddle and banjo tunes with early country songs. John and Thomas have traveled throughout the region and United States to entertain audiences at festivals, theatres, barrooms, and house concerts. Their captivating performance has been known to facilitate dancing, laughter, and even a tearful eye.  Both have studied traditional music with some of the region’s finest, well-respected mentors at the Kentucky Center for Traditional Music, where Thomas has been a faculty member since 2016. John has worked diligently to organize the annual Elliott County Fiddler’s Convention hosted at the Little Sandy Lodge in Sandy Hook, KY. John has worked as a luthier for several years crafting his own J. Ryster Violins.

Emerging Artist Opener: Kat Davis is a Kentucky born and bred storyteller, having been born and raised in Louisville, KY. In 2023, she began a series of "real life" stories, where she told the stories of people lost and forgotten in her family in order to keep the traditions and stories of her family alive. Since then, her stories have developed into more observational stories of hope, and exploring the human condition through beautiful words. She hopes to one day tell a story that could change the world, but for now she will settle for bringing smiles to people's faces and preserving her past.

Doors at 6pm. Music at 7:30pm. $10 Admission. $5 students.
