Children of Tell

Theatricals by Heather Branham

Express. Confess. Speak. Listen. We are all Children of Tell.

Heather Branham has worked as a professional theatre artist for over twenty years in Kentucky, Kansas, and Illinois. She feels it is her work with theatre folks in her home region of East Kentucky that constantly feeds her passion for the craft. In the last ten years, Heather has delved into the study of playwriting as a way to express the specific issues of geographical, political, and cultural loyalty that come with the Appalachian identity. She holds an M.A. in Theatre from University of Kentucky, a BFA in Theatre from Western Kentucky University, a BA in Anthropology from Eastern Kentucky University and a diploma in Drama from North Carolina School of the Arts. Throughout her formal education, Heather studied many areas of theatre craft under the tutelage of noted professionals from the US and abroad including Russia, Turkey, and England. Special interests include Constantin Stanislavski’s acting techniques, text analysis, phonetics, movement improvisation, Viola Spolin’s improvisation techniques for young people, and directing. Heather also dabbles in rock and roll, dog-stalking, and long walks in the woods.
